Lake Atitlán Art Workshop Overview

Turn the colors, landscapes, and everyday life of Lake Atitlán into your own piece of art. This 2.5-hour workshop gives you the freedom to choose what you want to paint while a local instructor supports the creative process.

Unlike the Mayan Nahual Painting Workshop, this session is based on free artistic creation rather than one specific cultural symbol. You may draw inspiration from the lake, volcanoes, traditional textiles, village streets or another element that catches your attention during your visit.

Lake Atitlán Art Workshop Itinerary

1. Meet at the confirmed workshop location in San Pedro La Laguna.
2. Discuss possible themes and choose the scene, colors or local element you would like to paint.
3. Sketch the composition and begin painting with guidance from the instructor.
4. Add final details, review your piece, and take your completed artwork with you.

Who this experience is for

Designed for solo travelers, couples, families and small groups who want a relaxed creative activity. Previous painting experience is not required, and each participant can work at an appropriate level.

What to bring to Lake Atitlán Art Workshop

• Comfortable clothes that can handle small paint marks

• A protective folder or bag for carrying the finished work

Booking and payment

The price is USD 23 per person. You may pay the full amount or reserve with a USD 9 deposit. The remaining balance is USD 14 / GTQ 105, paid in cash in Guatemalan quetzales on the activity date. The approved conversion rate is USD 1 = GTQ 7.50.

Cancellation, changes and weather

• Your deposit is refundable when you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled activity.
• You may change the date free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability.
• If the activity is cancelled because of weather conditions, you may receive a refund or transfer your payment to another activity or shuttle.
• If Cultour Atitlán Experts cancels the service, you will receive a 100% refund and one complimentary activity.
• A no-show is treated as a used service and is non-refundable.
